Welcome to Kensei Martial Arts Academy ("we," "our," or "us"). These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of our website, services, facilities, and any interactions you have with Kensei Martial Arts Academy. By accessing or using our services, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use our services.

2.1 Registration Requirements

To register for classes at Kensei Martial Arts Academy, you must:

• Complete all required registration forms accurately and completely
• Provide emergency contact information
• Disclose any medical conditions, injuries, or physical limitations that may affect your ability to participate safely
• For minors (under 18 years), a parent or legal guardian must complete registration and provide consent

We offer several membership options:

• All fees are due in advance of services
• Monthly memberships automatically renew unless cancelled according to our cancellation policy
• We accept major credit cards, debit cards, and electronic transfers
• A late fee of $15 may be applied to payments more than 7 days overdue
• Membership fees are subject to change with 30 days' notice

3.1 Class Schedule & Changes

We reserve the right to:

• Modify class schedules, including cancelling or rescheduling classes
• Change instructors for any class
• Limit class sizes for safety and quality reasons
• Combine classes when attendance is low

3.2 Attendance Requirements

• Arrive at least 10 minutes before class start time
• Wear appropriate martial arts attire (gi) or athletic clothing as specified for your class
• Remove all jewelry before participating in class
• Maintain proper hygiene (clean uniform, trimmed nails, etc.)

3.3 Make-up Classes

If you miss a regularly scheduled class:

• Monthly unlimited members may attend a make-up class within the same billing period
• Make-up classes must be scheduled in advance and are subject to availability
• Class pack holders forfeit missed classes unless cancelled with 24 hours' notice

4.1 Safety First

Martial arts training involves physical contact and inherent risks. You agree to:

• Follow all safety instructions from instructors
• Use control and restraint during partner drills
• Immediately report any injuries, however minor
• Not participate if injured, ill, or under the influence of alcohol or drugs

4.2 Dojo Etiquette

All students must adhere to traditional dojo etiquette:

• Bow when entering and leaving the dojo
• Address instructors as "Sensei" or by their proper title
• Show respect to all students, regardless of rank
• Keep the dojo clean and organized
• No foul language, disrespectful behavior, or bullying

4.3 Belt Testing & Advancement

Belt testing and advancement are at the discretion of the instructors and are based on:

• Technical skill proficiency
• Attendance and consistency
• Attitude and respect shown in the dojo
• Understanding of martial arts principles

Testing fees apply for belt promotions and are separate from membership fees.

5.1 Membership Cancellation

To cancel a monthly membership:

• Submit a written cancellation request at least 30 days before your next billing date
• Cancellation requests must be submitted via email or in-person at the front desk
• Phone cancellations are not accepted
• You are responsible for all charges until cancellation is confirmed

5.2 Refund Policy

• Monthly membership fees are non-refundable
• Class packs are non-refundable but may be transferred with management approval
• Private lesson packages are non-refundable but unused sessions may be transferred with 48 hours' notice of cancellation
• In exceptional circumstances, refunds may be issued at the discretion of management

5.3 Freeze Policy

Members may freeze their membership for medical reasons, extended travel, or other valid reasons:

• Freeze requests require 7 days' notice
• Minimum freeze period: 2 weeks
• Maximum freeze period: 3 months per calendar year
• A $10 monthly freeze fee applies (waived for medical reasons with documentation)

6.1 Release of Liability

You hereby release, waive, discharge, and covenant not to sue Kensei Martial Arts Academy, its owners, instructors, employees, and agents from any and all liability, claims, demands, actions, and causes of action whatsoever arising out of or related to any loss, damage, or injury, including death, that may be sustained by you or your property while participating in martial arts activities at our facility.

6.2 Medical Treatment Authorization

In case of medical emergency, you authorize Kensei Martial Arts Academy to seek emergency medical treatment on your behalf, and you agree to be responsible for all costs associated with such treatment.

7.1 Ownership

All content on our website, marketing materials, and training curriculum are the property of Kensei Martial Arts Academy and are protected by copyright and trademark laws. This includes but is not limited to:

• Our logo, brand name, and visual identity
• Training manuals and curriculum
• Photographs and videos produced by our academy
• Website content and design

7.2 Restrictions

You agree not to:

• Copy, reproduce, or distribute our proprietary materials without written permission
• Use our name, logo, or branding for your own purposes
• Record classes or training sessions without prior authorization
• Teach our proprietary curriculum outside of our academy

8.1 Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Continued use of our services after changes constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms. We will notify members of significant changes via email or posted notice at our facility.

8.2 Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of [Your State], without regard to its conflict of law provisions.

8.3 Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue to be valid and enforceable.
