Hear from adults who transformed their lives through martial arts.
35, Business Analyst • 2 years training
"Starting martial arts at 33 was one of the best decisions I've made. I've lost 30 pounds, gained incredible confidence, and found a supportive community. The instructors are exceptional at tailoring training to individual needs."
28, Nurse • 1.5 years training
"As a nurse, I needed stress relief and better fitness. Martial arts has given me both, plus practical self-defense skills. The morning classes fit perfectly with my hospital schedule, and the community feels like family."
52, Engineer • 4 years training
"I started in my late 40s with no martial arts background. The beginner program was perfect for me. Now, four years later, I'm a brown belt, 20 pounds lighter, and have more energy than I did in my 30s. Age is just a number here."
41, Teacher • 6 months training
"The self-defense aspect drew me in, but the community kept me coming. As a single woman, I feel more confident and capable. The instructors are incredibly knowledgeable and create a safe, supportive environment for learning."
Common questions about our Adult Martial Arts program.
Absolutely! Our beginner program is designed for all fitness levels. We focus on proper technique at your own pace. Many students start with limited fitness and gradually build strength, flexibility, and endurance through consistent training.
Comfortable athletic clothing (t-shirt and sweatpants/shorts) is perfect for your first class. Avoid clothing with zippers or hard buttons. We'll provide information on purchasing a proper martial arts uniform (gi) if you decide to continue training.
We recommend 2-3 classes per week for optimal progress. Consistency is key to developing skills, building fitness, and seeing tangible results. Many students attend 3 times weekly and notice significant improvements in fitness, technique, and confidence within 2-3 months.
Sparring is introduced gradually and is always optional. Beginner classes focus on technique without contact. Intermediate classes introduce light, controlled contact with proper protective gear. Safety is our top priority, and all sparring is closely supervised by instructors.
Our adult students range from late teens to seniors in their 60s and 70s, with most students between 25-50 years old. We group classes by experience level rather than age, creating a diverse, supportive community where everyone can learn from each other.
